Mosquito Net Impregnated
Mosquito net impregnated with insecticides were generally invented for malaria prevention in the 1980s. Later, new impregnated mosquito nets were developed that could last longer than the former ones. This sort of mosquito net is impregnated in synthetic pyrethroid insecticide like permethrin and deltamethrin. They can kill double the amount of mosquitoes of the non-treated nets. These mosquito nets have proven to be the most cost-effective prevention method against malaria and is part of WHO’s Millenniu Development Goals (MDGs).
